Private opening of a silk factory in Como

At the end of the 1400s Ludovico il Moro, duke of Milano, imported the silkworm from Asia and promoted the production of silk and textiles in our region. Since then, Como became one of the worlds’ capitals in the silk industry and still is.

Enter the rooms of one of the historic silk lab of Como: listen to the tales of the masters of silk, watch their movements and the surprising creativity of young talents.
The best fashion designers from all over the world work shoulder to shoulder with the maestro of the silk labs in Como.

Do you know that each silk lab has a private archive whose access is limited only to a few masters of the lab?

Looking for an authentic experience? Ask us for the guided visit with an historian of textile that will charm you with amazing stories and traditions on the history of textiles over the centuries.
