Tour of Lake Como

27 December 2018 by MilanoArte Leave a Comment

The cobalt blue and the intense green of the water and gardens of Lake Como have enchanted nobles and celebrities since the Roman times; Plinius the Elder and Younger, Leonardo da Vinci, Napoleon, Foscolo, Greta Garbo, Meryl Streep and George Clooney, all of them enjoyed the beauty of lake Como.

A tour of Lake Como opens the doors of villas and palaces such as Villa Carlotta or Villa Balbianello to relive a world of idleness, relaxation and parties like nobles, kings and emperors did for centuries (and they still enjoy nowadays).

Lake of Como offers many alternatives to the tourist, from the Roman and Medieval downtown of Como to some of the most spectacular belvedere you can reach by a funicular.
Yet, the best of all experiences is always a trip by boat: it makes no difference whether you travel by public ferry or by an elegant private motorboat, you are up for an experience you’ll never forget.

Are you interested in WorldWarTwo history? Do you want to know where and why fascist dictator Mussolini was shot on lake Como? If you liked our WW2 tour in Milan why not ask for a similar during a tour of lake Como?

Do you know that our lake is often a set of well-known Hollywood films? The latest in the series were “Star Wars”, “OO7” at Villa Balbaniello and “Ocean’s 12” at the glamorous hotel Villa Este.
